Measuring acquisition lift

Capture the baseline funnel, median response time, lead-to-opportunity rate, and close rate, then compare after automation. Activity metrics like emails sent prove nothing; funnel movement proves the lift.

Measure the funnel, not the activity

The defensible metrics are response time, conversion at each stage, and close rate. Because AI acts mostly at the top of the funnel, the clearest signal is faster response translating into a higher close-rate band.

Tie every claim to a funnel number you measured before automation. If response time drops from 40 hours to 5 minutes and close rate moves from the ~12% laggard band toward the ~32% best-in-class band, the lift is real and attributable. Report it per stage so weak spots, say, strong response but poor nurturing, are visible and fixable rather than hidden inside a single blended number.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is the single best metric for acquisition AI?

Median first-response time paired with close rate. Response time is what AI most directly improves, and its movement into a higher close-rate band is the clearest proof the automation is working.
